Curriculum
ELA (English Language Arts)-We are on Unit 4-Our Changing World. We will be reading A Froggy Fable. We will be learning how change can be scary, but a good thing.. Our comprehension skill is drawing conclusions, our vowel pattern is final syllable -le, and in grammar we are working on adjectives that describe our senses.
Writing-In writing we are starting our unit on Poetry. We will be writing several poems such as a Limerick, Haiku, Acrostic, Autobiography Poem, Rainbow Poem, Cinquain, Character Poem, and more. We also write in our journals a few days a week.
Math- We are on Topic 12 Geometry. We will be exploring flat surfaces, vertices and edges, relating plane shapes to solid figures, polygons and angles, making new shapes, cutting shapes apart, dividing rectangles into equal shapes, wholes and equal parts, and with problem-solving, use reasoning.
Science-We are starting Unit 3-Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics
We will be planning and conducting an investigation to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow, developing a simple model that mimics the function of an animal in dispersing seeds or pollinating plants, and making observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats.

- planting flower seeds
- learning about the parts of a plant
- exploring the life cycle of plants
- completing many hands-on activities
